Underdog love stories, it’s something we’ve seen in many forms, from “Wall E” to “Forest Gump”, it’s not easy to create something new within the genre. “Long Shot” certainly isn’t original, but it has a certain charm about it that makes it stand out. Seth Rogan starring as the underdog ‘Fred Flarsky’ going after the stunning, out of his league, ‘Charlotte Field’ played by Charlize Theron.

Seth Rogan never fails to deliver on the comedy side, full of comedic moments, this is a laugh out loud romantic comedy from beginning to end. None of this would be accomplished without the connection felt between the characters,

The underdog love story is only ever believable when the characters bounce off each other, Rogan and Theron manage to give performances that made the love story feel natural and almost real. The build-up of the characters within this story gives you a chance to connect with them on a personal level, which builds on the love story we are expected to believe.

A typical underdog love story, that so many times does not work. “Long Shot” has a certain charm about it that makes this story-line not only believable but entertaining and on top of that is full of comical moments.
