The Darjeeling Limited (2007)

Anderson portrays India beautifully, plenty of vibrant colours and intriguing processions that captures the pure essence of their culture.

Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

Eyes Wide Shut is almost Lynchian in its approach to horror, in the depths of its nightmarish imagination and in the wildly unsettling, unnerving atmosphere it is able to create and maintain.

Ford v Ferrari (2019)

The cast is top notch. Damon is rock solid, but itโ€™s Bale who steals the show with an infectious performance. Of late, some of his performances have felt disengaged, but not here.

Se7en (1995)

In the case of ๐˜š๐˜ฆ๐Ÿฝ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ, it is the nature of these sins, both their grisliness and philosophical weight, that transcends the superficiality of the buddy-cop formula and into the incomprehensible abyss of the underworld.

Hereditary (2018)

Itโ€™s an audacious directorial debut from Aster, who manages to craft a bone-chilling drama subtly through slow camera movements and narrative tension.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)

Iโ€™ve seen many call this one of, if not the best movie sequel of all time, and after rewatching it, Iโ€™m honestly not in a position to deny that.

Skyfall (2012)

Well executed action, editing that won’t make your head explode, a plot and production that pays homage to Bond’s 50 years of cinema.

Paris, Texas (1984)

As Nick Roddick once wrote, Wim Wendersโ€™ sense of movement is to โ€œ๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ ๐˜ข๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜บ ๐˜ง๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ, ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฅโ€. Escapism has never looked so romantic. But thatโ€™s why ๐˜—๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ด, ๐˜›๐˜ฆ๐˜น๐˜ข๐˜ด (๐Ÿท๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿบ) works; simply, because it does not.โฃโฃ

Ad Astra (2019)

This is a James Gray extravaganza. A meticulously woven character study, harnessing melancholia to challenge an existential crisis.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

Captures the essence of the source material in almost every way, setting a bewildering standard for fantasy worlds to come and setting the framework for what was still one to come in the coming films.

Cyberpunk 2077: All the Latest Updates

Cyberpunk 2077 is less than a week away and it is confirmed that no matter what, on December 10, it will be on store shelves -CD Projekt Red guarantees it!

Star Wars: Episode VIII โ€“ The Last Jedi (2017)

For the most part, I actually like Lukeโ€™s story. If they just ditched the โ€œletโ€™s make Lukeโ€™s trauma comedic!โ€ shtick, his story would have resonated far more than it did.

These are the nominees for The Game Awards 2020

We’ll have to wait in order to find out the big winner, but The Last of Us Part II leads the 2020 Game Awards nominees.

Top 5 Book-to-filmโฃ

Hitchcock once said โ€œWhen you finish the script, the film is perfect. But in shooting it, you lose perhaps 40 percent of your original conception,โ€ meaning that ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต, the page will always be denser than the screen.

On the Rocks (2020)

If Dean cheats, Felixโ€™s misogyny is somewhat endorsed; if he doesnโ€™t, then Laura is irrefutably dependent, and lacking any semblance of self-security.

Shame (2011)

Michael Fassbender is an actor Iโ€™m incredibly familiar with, and yet the performance he puts forward in this film is like nothing I had ever seen of him before.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Will of the Wisps is bigger, better, and braver with its storytelling, world-building, and integral gameplay. Everything a sequel should do!

A First Look at League of Legendsโ€™ RPG game

Ruined King will be released in early 2021 and it will be available on Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Blade Runner (1982)

It is perfection โ€“ a masterpiece. Ridley Scott and Co. delivered an amazing peek into a brutal world. Itโ€™s both incredibly beautiful and quite cold.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)

28 years after the theatrical release of “A Few Good Men”, Sorkin sets his sights on a true story.

Bottle Rocket (1996)

Whether youโ€™re a fan of the deadpan auteur in his pastel suits, or absolutely cannot stand him, ๐˜‰๐˜ฐ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ ๐˜™๐˜ฐ๐˜ค๐˜ฌ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต (๐Ÿท๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿผ) has as much and as little Wes Anderson to suit all needs.โฃ
โฃ

Django Unchained (2012)

There is absolutely no denying that witnessing almost 3 hours of unabashed black vengeance in its purest form is one of the most satisfying things Iโ€™ve ever experienced on screen.

Assassinโ€™s Creed Valhalla: All the Latest Updates

Assassinโ€™s Creed Valhalla will be released on November 10 for the Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Microsoft Windows.

Firewatch

Underneath the compelling thriller, is a tale divulging in the human condition. Constantly relying on humour and empathy to develop Henry and his malnourishment for love.

Aliens (1986)

Surprise encounters, gore, and plenty of tense moments ensure that even though there’s plenty of action, there’s just as much horror as the original.

5 Old-School Videogames Worth Trying

These timeless treasures are worth every single minute of your time. Classic, favorite, and catchy, they captivate you with their old-fashioned charm.

Boogie Nights (1997)

PTA displays this wondrous capacity to juggle a handful of exclusive storylines, each of which progressively diverge further and further apart from one another.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975)

Perhaps itโ€™s the sheer simplicity of them, or the unmistakable significance of them being some of the first mainstream films to delve into what was at the time very taboo territory.

You Were Never Really Here (2017)

Beautiful and horrific simultaneously. A perfect juxtaposition that illustrates the themes and technical talent conveyed through this phenomenal film.

Mission: Impossible (1996)

De Palmaโ€™s approach is a little old school, with some classic espionage elements and even a hint of noir.

Midnight Cowboy (1969)

Itโ€™s an abject portrait of late-60s New York, one where you expect to find the characters of a Lou Reed song right around the corner.

Army of Shadows (1969)

Is it indeed the glum acceptance that resistance is futile, or it is a melancholy commemoration of those whose achievements in fighting the Nazis go unrecognised to this day?

PS5 in the Spotlight: Everything you Need to Know

Ryan briefly stated that the โ€œGame Passโ€ model โ€œmakes no senseโ€ for Sonyโ€™s first-party games and ruled out offering a subscription model to Microsoft standards.

The New World (2005)

Itโ€™s aggressively immersive in a way that feels unparalleled by possibly any other filmmaker working today, inundating you with the nuances and idiosyncratic beauty of the natural surroundings.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

Before you know it, the epilogue arrives and you’ve subconsciously become invested in their journey. And yes, it’ll rip your heart out.

It Follows (2014)

It allowed me to dive into a nightmarish vision, interpreting the symbolism for myself whilst perching on the edge of my seat. Minimalist horror at its finest.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things (2020)

When I eventually do revisit this one, my score wonโ€™t be the same. But I suspect, as always with Kaufman, it can only get betterโ€ฆโฃ

Cyberpunk 2077 is Just Around the Corner

The title is one of the most expensive games ever created, approaching the amount that Rockstar spends on its productions.

Inception (2010)

It’s the hallmark of good storytelling that a film with no less than five layers of reality is so easy to follow.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer Revealed!

The next generation of global combat is here with the iconic Black Ops Multiplayer experience.

Lady Vengeance (2005)

This film is able to maintain an almost infinite level of detail and narrative depth, expanding on its world, its characters, and its history so concretely by moving a mile a minute

Videogames Created by One Person

Creating a video game sounds like a difficult task, right? Well, it really is. But how much more challenging can it be when a single person undertakes it?

Top 5 Directorial Debutsโฃ

Sometimes itโ€™s the raw energy of an amateur that we fall in love with, as in the case of Lynchโ€™s ๐˜Œ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ, Van Santโ€™s ๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ข ๐˜•๐˜ฐ๐˜ค๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ or Wes Andersonโ€™s ๐˜‰๐˜ฐ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ ๐˜™๐˜ฐ๐˜ค๐˜ฌ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)

Fincher’s American remake is a different beast entirely, taking a steelier approach that hosts an abundance of cinematic flair.

Tenet (2020)

I’ll simply say that Nolan has added sci-fi elements to stories before. This is the first time he’s gone full cerebral sci-fi, and that’s my bread and butter.

Vertigo (1958)

Vertigoโ€™s dense atmosphere does the film a lot of favours, made so visceral by the combined efforts of the performances, cinematography, and, perhaps most notably, Bernard Herrmanโ€™s fantastic, hypnotising score.

Heathers (1989)

To integrate this act of self-destruction into a school comedy and disguise it as an implication of social association, it felt wrong. And I understand, thatโ€™s the entire purpose of Heathers.

Miami Vice (2006)

Colin Farrell does in fact pull off his mullet, extraordinarily well in fact. Him and Jamie Foxx make for such a suave, killer duo, and practically every scene they have together is a real pleasure to watch.

The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)

It is an incredible film which summarises a completely individual style, built entirely inside a world that is so well developed it must truly exist, just not to you or me.

Tron: Legacy (2010)

It respectfully continues the story of the first film, whilst also taking the opportunity to create more complex worlds.

Paddington (2014)

Paddington is the equivalent of receiving a warm embrace from your grandparents, or snuggles from your domesticated pet. It emits a sensation of comfort, leaving you with a massive smile on your face.

Xbox Series X Defines the Future of Gaming

The arrival of the new console generation, and more specifically Xbox Series Xโ€™s, is just around the corner.

Paris Is Burning (1990)

Bursting with life, bursting with character, bursting with cutting social commentary, bursting with energy – and so, so much more.

Welcome to Season Five of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare!

The biggest Warzone maps additions ever seen, more Multiplayer maps, new Operators, and a comprehensive Battle Pass system brimming with content.

Jojo Rabbit (2019)

Had Waititi taken a Tarantino-esque “Inglourious Basterds” approach, it could have been great. As it stands, it’s merely good.

Top 5 Directorial Debutsโฃ

These directors make me feel terrible about how little I have achieved. My first film? A 10-minute long short about rebellious teenagers, with 4 minutes of dialogue and 6 minutes of unlicensed music.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019)

Sciamma produces a tale of passion that radiates gravitas upon each line of dialogue, facial expression and inevitable conclusion.

Dunkirk (2017)

Nolanโ€™s dependence on practical effects brings a new level of tangibility to each sequence, making each event more immersive, visceral and tense.

I See You (2019)

Without delving into spoiler territory, I’ll simply say it’s interesting to essentially see one story told three different ways. That’s both its hook, and its Achilles heel.

Layer Cake (2004)

Vaughnโ€™s punchy directorial debut can often be mistaken for an early Ritchie flick. With โ€˜Snatchโ€™ and โ€˜Lock, Stockโ€™ being clear inspirations for the featureโ€™s execution.

The Master (2012)

While this may make for a taxing watch for the uninitiated, if you enjoy seeing things youโ€™ve never seen before, then this may be your cuppaโ€™ moonshineโ€ฆโฃ

Zodiac (2007)

Zodiac feels slightly apart from a lot of Fincherโ€™s other films to me, primarily in that itโ€™s darkness is often much more subtle and, frankly, much more sinister.

It (2017)

Literary adaptations: they’re a minefield. So many stray from the source material. It doesn’t automatically make them bad films, but they can be a disappointment.

Midsommar (2019)

It’s not often an unsettling film such as this is entirely shot in broad daylight and still produce the same effect. Just awe-inspiring, and Aster continues to be a talent to watch blossom.

Blood Simple (1984)

The blend of genre is less fluid and more sudden than their modern worksโ€” the edges of the duoโ€™s hybridity not yet bevelledโ€” but the conflation of style is still balanced and never out of place.

Cool Hand Luke (1967)

The suaveness he brings to the screen is almost irresistible, and the arc given to his Luke is something that not only really impacted me, but honestly shocked me too.

Bubba Ho-Tep (2002)

Trust me, you haven’t lived until you’ve seen insulting heiroglyph subtitles, Elvis’s “stuff”, or a scarab fight. Bloody brilliant.

Incendies (2010)

The sheer power and ferocity of the blazing imagery takes hold. Unable to let go. Brilliantly elegant, yet audacious.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)

The implication of historical pride is torn away by the likes of glutenous fat-cats and the K.K.K., reminding us of the existent societal atrocities, past and present.

Thief (1981)

Caan just brings so much energy, unexpected like-ability and humanity to the character, letting much more on about his character than is typical of these neo-noir protagonists.

Jaws (1975)

Bruce the Shark might have been a pain in the ass to work with, but the result is a thriller that stands the test of time!

Maleficent (2014)

Jolie ultimately is given nothing substantial to work with, only creating an aesthetically pleasing shell of her character rather than exploring the depths of Maleficentโ€™s tragedy.

Phantom Thread (2017)

PTA films both warrant and reward second viewings, but Iโ€™ve now seen ๐˜—๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ four times, and after each screening Iโ€™ve asked myself the same question: ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ด๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜โ€™๐˜ฎ ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ? โฃ

Unforgiven (1992)

It’s certainly a reserved film, more interested in characters and the spaces between them than an overwhelming amount of action.

Sea Fever (2019)

Hardimanโ€™s sci-fi thriller, with hints of creature feature horror, finds itself acquiring an apt comparison to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

8ยฝ (1963)

8ยฝ didnโ€™t quite hit me emotionally as much as I wanted, I practically have solely great things to say about this film, because it is, with no doubt in my mind, just that – a great film.

Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films (2014)

If any studio personifies the adage “so bad it’s good”, it’s Cannon Films. The Israeli studio headed by Golan and Globus is responsible for a glut of films over more than a quarter of a century.

Inherent Vice (2014)

Unrelentingly goofy, yet achingly poignant, and like so many of his films, Inherent Vice demands and rewards revisits. โฃ

The Haunting of Sharon Tate (2019)

There are bad horrors that exist in the planes of our reality, and then there are tasteless abominations that exploit a tragic event to conjure some cheap jump scares and woeful performances.

Children of Men (2006)

It is the depiction of humanity at their absolute worst and at their absolute best, it is the implicit detail within every scene, line of dialogue and shot, and it is everything in between.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 Now Live!

Experience new ways to play and updates for Warzone, join Multiplayer battle in new modes across new maps and earn two free weapons in a content rich Battle Pass system, available for everyone.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Sony nails another 4K remaster. Detail for days, spot on grading, and nice, uniform grain. An absolute looker of a disc.

Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)

The film is a fable of the near-miss, the almost-famous, calamity without retribution. In other words, itโ€™s not the story of success, but the unfortunate story of ๐˜ฆ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ.โฃ

Manchester by the Sea (2016)

I honestly havenโ€™t encountered a film with this much honesty, this much untamed emotion, and this much vulnerability with its characters since Magnolia.

Zero Dark Thirty (2013)

Bigelowโ€™s thrilling decade-long depiction of events, in what is claimed as the โ€œgreatest manhunt in historyโ€, can only be described as uncompromising scintillating cinema at its most raw.

Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Ritchieโ€™s adaptation of Conan Doyleโ€™s legendary literary figure, is undoubtedly his best non-British gangster film. There, itโ€™s been said!

The War of the Worlds (1953)

It’s lean at 85 mins, delivers on the premise of thrills and sci-fi action, and offers some amazing visuals along the way.

Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985)

A career that is widely summarised as โ€œScorseseโ€™s writerโ€ causes Schraderโ€™s name to be swept under the rugโ€”deafened by the crickets of empty cinemas credit rolls.

25th Hour (2002)

25th Hourโ€™s direction as a whole came as a bit of a shock to me, first and foremost because this feels like the least โ€˜Spike Leeโ€™ film Iโ€™ve seen of his to date.

Dune (1984)

Many directors had attempted to adapt Dune. Including Jodorowsky and Scott. None were successful. These failed ventures substantiated one question: โ€œwhy?โ€.

TOP 5 FILMS: 1995-1999 โฃ

I could argue that most of these are loosely placed somewhere in my top 10 of all time, and I donโ€™t think thatโ€™s a coincidence.

Justice League (2017)

I’ve made it clear that I don’t mind Snyder’s approach to things. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but he had a specific vision and plan for these characters. Warner Bros destroyed it, and their franchise with it.

Lost Highway (1997)

Lost Highway only reminded me just how visceral, mind-bending and captivating Lynchโ€™s work truly is, and now I genuinely cannot wait to complete his filmography.

Eighth Grade (2018)

It capitalises on the modernisation of social structures and how the era of Internet socialisation has decimated real communication.

Sin City (2005)

Its extraordinary violence may seem over-the-top– and with Quentin Tarantino as guest director, that opinion is expected.

Cape Fear (1991)

Scorsese tries his luck with a Hitchcockian thriller that, despite the aforementioned diversity of his films, feels so distinct from the rest of his filmography.

Punch-Drunk Love (2002)

Anderson however, remains as the shining star amongst all of his films. His direction, unsurprisingly, was faultless. Absolutely perfect.

The VVitch (2015)

A 5-year feat of relentless page surfing, The VVitch adopts the age-old terrors of quicksand:โฃ The harder you struggle, the further you will sink.โฃ

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007)

If you want a patient, calm, visually astounding revisionist Western that carries the genre onto the 21st century, then this is the film for you.

Roma (2018)

Technically, narratively, emotionally and artistically perfect. It may not have won Best Picture, which was an absolute travesty, yet Liboโ€™s legacy lives on.

Pan’s Labyrinth (2006)

Guillermo Del Toroโ€™s war-time fantasy is a captivating double-play of fairytale dilemma and autocratic monstrosity, creating beauty and paranoia no matter the dimension.

The Departed (2006)

This film has made something absolutely certain to me: Scorsese is, without a doubt, one of the best filmmakers of all time, and definitely one of my favourites.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008)

This film is a witty, sexy, summery delight and is a mark of not only a masterโ€™s maturity and command of their craft, but a grasp of his audience.

The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

Objectively speaking, The Dark Knight Rises is a technically astute blockbuster. Narratively though? Not in the slightest. Itโ€™s a mess. Borderline boring.

Magnolia (1999)

A film that upon a second viewing, has not only taken my top spot for โ€˜best Paul Thomas Anderson filmโ€™ but has made it way right up into my top 3 of all time.

Uncut Gems (2019)

No filmmakers today capture the tumult of modernity quite like they do, as their films exist in this void between the real world and a hyperreality which only they seem able to access.

The Underrated Martin McDonagh

The idea alone of Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken stealing dogs only to give them back to the owners and retrieve the reward perfectly sums up McDonaghโ€™s wild and magnificent imagination.

The Sixth Sense (1999)

A thriller that intelligently exploits esotericism as a plot device to strengthen its characters, almost reaching the adolescent depths of a coming-of-age tale.

Good Time (2017)

The Safdie Brothersโ€™ direction of the film is pretty spectacular, really capturing the essence of a gritty crime drama, blending seamlessly with the brutal nature of the subject matter.

Burn After Reading (2008)

The schizophrenic chaos that ensues on screen is only comprehensible to the audience because the Coen Brothers are wiz-kids at pacing; nothing seems to muddle, unless you try to explain it.

The Graduate (1967)

Itโ€™s Mrs. Robinson, the wife of his fatherโ€™s law partner, insisting he drives her home. With much trepidation, he does so. Only to then be welcomed by a wave of seduction.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season Three

The latest season is packed with new maps, modes, weapons, Operators, Vehicle Skins, cosmetics and more for both Modern Warfare and Warzone.

Synecdoche, New York (2008)

Watching this film is like assembling a jigsaw without an image. So hot tip for the audienceโ€ฆyouโ€™re not trying to keep afloat in this gravy-bowl of a narrative, youโ€™re meant to submit to it, drown in it.

Spirited Away (2001)

When I said Spirited Away was beautiful on more levels than simply its cinematography, I wasnโ€™t lying, but when I say this film is visually beautiful, I mean it is something else.

Rain Man (1988)

By simply showing awareness, Levinson balances the acute memory senses with the emotional complexities, and manages to direct a solidly enthralling road-trip feature along the way.

Blow Out (1981)

The filmโ€™s script is undeniably excellent – not only is the premise clever and thoroughly intriguing, but the writing also allows for a lot of political subtext, giving an extra layer of depth to the film.

The Prestige (2006)

The answer is always the simplest one, so to incorporate sleight of hand camera tricks to disguise the twist throughout, well, was genius.

The Perfect Storm (2000)

A disaster film that unsurprisingly places exceedingly high production design and special effects above succinct characterisation and drama.

The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

Iโ€™m pretty impartial when it comes to genres, although my relationship with horror films isnโ€™t exactly perfect, and so going into this horror thriller, I was hoping for the best, and I pretty much got it.

Q&A – Vol. 21: Dead Meat

I released my first video on the channel in April of 2017. By November of that year, I was able to leave my full-time job as a video editor for Fox and do Dead Meat full time.

Out of the Furnace (2013)

The cast is unable to elevate the simplicity of its script, creating a functional if occasionally underwhelming feature in the process.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Warzone – Free to Play Battle Royale!

You do not need to own the full version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to download, play and enjoy Warzone. Call of Duty: Warzone is free for everyone.

American Psycho (2000)

Eerie, unnerving and even outright terrifying, yet, balanced in a way that feels effortless and even harmonious, it is unjustifiably and completely inappropriately hysterical in parts

Before Sunrise (1995)

You, the viewer, also begin to fall in love with these characters: their quirks, their flaws, their intelligence, their insights, their chemistry and everything in between.

Nebraska (2013)

Nebraska balances grounded themes with intelligent comedy. It illustrates the menial frustrations and plausible joys of life through a family nearing the end of a generation.

Chinatown (1974)

Constantly escalating and keeping you on your toes with a spiralling, complex narrative and riveting characterisation, this is a classic that is well deserving of its recognition.

Call Me by Your Name (2017)

The inner conflict that rages within him starts to manifest and take control, where he is soon plunged into a forbidden love. And what a beautiful film this is.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

Itโ€™s a masterful exercise in combining character-driven dialogue with a contemporary visual style, bestowing a mass appeal upon the colossal front doors of the hotel.

La Haine (1995)

La Haine is, put simply, a masterpiece, and everything I could have wanted it to be, and so so much more, easily making one of my all-time favourite films.

Q&A – Vol. 20: Directors Visions

The greatest achievement of DV is probably reaching 500K and having celebrities like Margot Robbie, Wally Pfister & Jonah Hill follow this page!

The Counselor (2013)

This is not the Ridley Scott of โ€˜Alienโ€™. This is not the Cormac McCarthy of โ€˜No Country For Old Menโ€™. They are both in way over their heads.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season Two Now Live With More Free Content

New Multiplayer Maps, Modes and New Battle Pass System Content Available Free for All Players Across All Platforms.

The Shape of Water (2017)

The themes and messages of this film are handled perfectly, keying in on the universality of compassion and decency, the abhorrence of โ€˜otheringโ€™ and the importance of being seen and heard.

National Treasure (2004)

A straightforward yet fun family adventure, with hints of historic mystery to fascinate audiences. Highly improbable? Absolutely. Does it hinder the overall enjoyment? Well, thatโ€™s for you to decide.

Heat (1995)

Anyone would have expected a powerhouse pairing of De Niro and Pacino to result in something fantastic, and that is just what Heat delivers,

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017)

McDonaugh had my undivided attention immediately, and he didn’t let me go. Not once. That in itself is a damn achievement.

There Will Be Blood (2007)

Daniel Day Lewis delivers one of the best performances I have ever seen: he is absolutely terrifying, treating every line of dialogue as if itโ€™s his last.

Death Proof (2007)

It rarely took detours and drifted excitedly around tight corners, albeit with limited exploitative violence and prolonged conversational scenes. Death Proof really is Tarantino-proof.

Ricky Gervais and the Loveable Asshole

It is the heartwarming, life-affirming character development of each scriptโ€™s asshole protagonist that I believe is the key element to Rickyโ€™s success.

Blue Velvet (1986)

The sense of mystery is perpetual throughout, and, like almost all of my favourites, the narrative complexity exponentially increases as the film goes on.

Ocean’s 8 (2018)

Oceanโ€™s 8 is a systematic cog within its mechanical heist. From the offset, you know exactly how the robbery will play out and whether they get arrested or not.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)

Thereโ€™s a driving, burning and melancholic feeling all throughout the film, heavily felt through the dialogue, performances and often very cleverly through the direction.

Empire of the Sun (1987)

Youโ€™ll laugh, gasp and cry during this coming-of-age tale, and thatโ€™s the true beauty of this auteurโ€™s timeless work.

La La Land (2016)

Damien Chazelle has inarguably proved himself as one of the best directors of our generations, constantly conveying his versatility and passion for his craft.

Die Hard (1988)

Die Hard explodes its way in becoming the pinnacle of action films. It isn’t Christmas if you don’t watch Die Hard. Yippee-ki-yay motherfu…well, you know the rest.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)

Liman maintains a light tone throughout, never dabbling into the cracks of the marriage which is vital for retaining a fun buoyancy.

Casino (1995)

This film really is Martin Scorsese at his peak, uniting all the best parts of his productions, with Schoonmaker, Richardson, De Niro, and Pesci all coming together and bringing their absolute best.

Boyhood (2014)

Linklater took no risks with the story. Limited emotional depth. Boyhood, for all its technical ingenuity, remained hollow.

The Truman Show (1998)

On its surface level alone, there is more than enough to keep you entertained and engaged in The Truman Show, but itโ€™s the subtext beneath everything that really makes the film so great

Milk (2008)

Van Sant delivered the goods. Yet, as a reminder for both heterosexuals and homosexuals alike for how archaic life was, Milk is absurdly powerful.

Se7en (1995)

Having now seen Se7en, I am more than comfortable proclaiming it to be the filmmakerโ€™s masterpiece.

The biggest drop of free content in Call of Duty history

Iconic maps like Crash make their return, as completely new maps are introduced. New weapons are available for your Gunsmith grinding to use across a sweep of new modes and Special Ops experiences.

Animal Kingdom (2010)

Tight, taut and packed full of explosive performances that provide an animalistic bite to this crime story. A rejuvenated modern-take on the classic gangster formula.

Q&A – Vol. 19: The Squating Dog

I got to play in a tournament with SypherPK which was an absolute blast. And I have played in plenty of content creator tournaments throughout the year brushing shoulders with many A-List Streamers.

First Man (2018)

One that radiates wonderment and awe. It’s one small step for biopics, but one giant leap for Chazelle. Cementing him as one of the best directors working today.

Q&A – Vol. 18: The Disinsider

It actually started as an Instagram page called Disney Film Facts. I created the page back in 2013 as a way to share what I know of Disney films including facts and behind the scenes info.

Just make it personal, donโ€™t try and do what others do, be sure to share your views and explain what certain movies made you feel and not only describe what they are about.

Rashomon (1950)

Short, sharp and sensational. Relatable on a thematic and personal level that transcends the discourse of time.

Judy (2019)

Somewhere in those hard questions, you will find your own voice and once you are honest with that, then you will find a real audience. It just takes time but anything great in life always does

Under the Skin (2013)

Let the dimensional aura envelope you in a thematic blanket. Let Glazer guide you through an experience like no other.

Hustlers (2019)

Hustlers maxes out its own credit card by hustling cameos instead of a sensual narrative. Strip clubs, twerking, grinding and hustling.

Q&A – Vol. 9: Ben Green: ESL Australia

The growth we have seen in recent years has been the most exciting. Seeing events pop up that I wish I could have gone to when I was younger. Itโ€™s a great time to be an Aussie esports fan.

MEO 2019: Australia’s Biggest Esports Festival

ESL and TEG Live are celebrating the conclusion of the 2019 Melbourne Esports Open, presented by JB-Hi-Fi, which saw more than 17,000 esports and gaming fans partake in the biggest festival of esports in Australia.

If Beale Street Could Talk (2018)

Jenkins’ follow-up to the masterpiece that is ‘Moonlight’ is one that is riddled with expectations. A question of delivering such towering content consecutively.

Get Him to the Greek (2010)

The British eccentric behaviour of the leather-coated Brand and the American lifestyle of the fatigued Hill was an odd combination to say the least.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare BETA Update

The Beta is your chance to go hands on with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare before its worldwide release on October 25, 2019.

Final Destination (2000)

Final Destination uses its precognitive abilities to spawn a franchise devoid of suspense. Yes, another influential horror series that is ferociously mediocre and stupid beyond belief.

Q&A – Vol.1: Film Stocked

Honestly, we just sit down and talk out our thoughts on a movie. We will have a couple of pre-prepared key points, but we let it flow naturally.

Annihilation (2018)

Tantalisingly powerful! Committed performances, a thematic narrative, and visual splendour. Annihilation is without a doubt one of the best sci-fi films this decade.

Back to the Future (1985)

Perfect casting, punctual dialogue and memorable scenes. It may not be the best 80s film I’ve seen, but it certainly has the gigawatts the maintain its lasting power for many years to come.

Annabelle Comes Home (2019)

Annabelle Comes Home to a menagerie of spine-tingling haunted shenanigans. “A beacon for other spirits” utters Lorraine Warren outside a misty cemetery, staring blankly at the possessed doll. Yeah, no kidding!

Mandy rocks out to psychedelic visuals whilst swinging a newly forged battle axe. Welcome to the world of Panos Cosmatos.

Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)

Spider-Man: Far From Home swings from New York to Europe through floundering webs of exposition. Superhero fatigue is really kicking into full gear now, and not even my “Peter-Tingle” can avoid such a fate.

Rocketman (2019)

Rocketman is no Tiny Dancer but isn’t exactly Still Standing. And I think it’s going to be a long, long time before these crowdpleasers fill my soul with pure enjoyment.

Pineapple Express (2008)

Pineapple Express presumably can only be enjoyed whilst high. Bro, this was vastly overrated bro, like, bro. Stoner comedies man, just not my vibe.

Men In Black: International (2019)

Men in Black International had me wanting to be neuralysed over and over again.
